Mechanic-Heavy Equipment

Location: Montana

Salary: Shop $23 - $25hr, Traveling $25 - $42hr

Hours: Full-Time 40+ (Regularly M-Sa.) (Frequently Nights and Weekends)

Seeking a qualified, experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic.  Minimum 5 yrs. general mechanic experience; would prefer more. Current CDL/Medical Card required. OSHA/MSHA/Crane Certifications preferred. Must travel for extended periods to satellite job sites. Basic knowledge of equipment used in Asphalt operations, Commercial Highway Tractors and Trailers required. Must be able to move from one job to another, be self-motivated and be able to work efficiently at a fast pace.  

Skills/Knowledge of Welding, Heavy Equipment operation and mechanics, Truck/Trailer Combinations, Diesel mechanics, Basic computer skills, Computerized Caterpillar and Komatsu systems required.  Knowledge with Equipment Management Software helpful. Experience with Caterpillar and Cummings or working at a CAT or Interstate Dealership preferable.  Must be safety minded and have a good safety record. Must be able to show competencies through certifications and work history to qualify according to DOT standards (Part 393 and Appendix G) to do Annual Inspections and be able to prioritize workload to maximize time.  Will report to the acting Equipment Manager.

Experienced Finish Blade Operator
Davis Bacon/Prevailing Wages averaging around $40.50 per hr (includes fringe pay)


Seeking a qualified Heavy Equipment - Finish Blade Operator to work on various jobs in Montana. Need at least 1 year of experience with GPS Trimble but prefer 5 years of Blade experience. Skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Fueler/Oiler Service Technician. Must have minimum 2 yrs. of experience, but would prefer more. This position requires a current CDL A/Medical Card, and Hazmat Certification and a clean driving record.  Required to work weekends and nights often. Must have a basic knowledge of equipment used in Asphalt, Earthworks, Crushing and Commercial Highway Tractors.
Heavy Equipment “Main Line” Hoe (Excavator) Operator
Location: Kalispell, MT  
Pay Rate – Davis Bacon Prevailing wage averaging around $39 hr (includes fringe pay)
Seeking experienced excavator, track hoe Heavy Equipment Operators. At the very least 2 years of experience but prefer 5 years of Heavy Equipment, excavator, track hoe “Main Line” operator experience. Must be able to travel between projects when needed. Must be productive, time effective, and have an attitude of urgency without a lot of supervision and have some mechanical skill. Location: Kalispell, MT  
Must have minimum 2 yrs. of experience, but would prefer more. This position requires a current CDL A/Medical Card, and Hazmat Certification and a clean driving record. Must be able to travel for extended periods of time, to satellite job sites. Required to work weekends and nights often. Must have basic skills of how to change oil, oil filters, fuel filters, grease, lube and fill Heavy Highway Equipment with fuel. Candidate must be safety minded and have a good safety record.  Familiar, but not an expert, with Heavy Equipment operation and mechanics, Diesel mechanics.  Must have a basic knowledge of equipment used in Asphalt, Earthworks, Crushing and Commercial Highway Tractors. Must be self-motivated and able to work efficiently at a fast pace without a lot of direct supervision.

Perform general laborer duties in any of the following areas:  paving, concrete, crushing, excavation and grading.
 

Equipment Operators

 

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Heavy equipment may include front-end loaders, graders, rollers, skidsteers, excavators, pavers and other pieces of heavy equipment.

Drivers

Drivers will safely and efficiently operate end dumps, side dumps, and belly dumps with and without trailers and tarping systems. Drivers will deliver all types of soils, aggregates, asphalt and other materials to locations both residential and commercial.

Survey Grade Setter
Location: Kalispell, MT  
The survey grade setter must have experience with staking from plans. Must have experience with Trimble GPS systems and will be working with data collectors and rovers. Prefer 5 yrs experience but will look at less for the right person.
